Masterclass Charlotte boye-christensen
Monday April 21st, 2025 7pm-8:30pm
I have a continuous, rigorous research into form in my contemporary technique classes. The body in all its complexity, limitations, power, and vulnerability is at the forefront of the movement that I teach. I strive to encourage dancers to expand their physical reach and push physical boundaries through rapid level changes while maintaining clarity in the spatial directionality of the body. My Contemporary technique classes incorporate elements from release technique, contemporary ballet, yoga and more. The class will be highly physical and technical yet also playful and fun.

Maren Stubenvoll of Stube Creative is an up and coming fine artist based in Bozeman, MT, drawing inspiration from the mountain cultures she’s been a part of across the Rocky Mountain West. While she has been a lifelong artist, she initially pursued a career in Montana mental health after graduating from MSU in 2020. However, captivated and moved by the vibrancy of the communities she encountered in her day job, she transitioned into a full time art career to prioritize joy, adventure, and community. With an enduring fascination for the natural world and mountain communities, Maren’s work balances the significance and humor she finds in her mountain adventures. Through bold mixed media and acrylic paintings, she brings to life strong characters that reflect the complexity, humor, and humanity of Montanans. She aims to trade the violence depicted in traditional western art for a more whimsical, humorous, colorful, and idealized vision of what makes the wild west beautiful. Since the launch of Stube Creative in May 2023, Maren has showcased her work across various markets and shows in Montana, including farmer’s markets, art shows, and local Bozeman venues. She has also co-founded the Birdhouse Collective, an artist resource hub and host of local art events in Bozeman. She is so excited to expand her work, build connections across the Montana art community, and continue to grow artistically.
